Hella Damn Squirrels is a blog of original squirrel photos, showcasing the wild rodents of Lake Merritt, Oakland. These photos are accompanied by humorous captions, telling their daily stories as if they are human denizens of the lake posting social media reports of their rather mundane, humanistic thoughts.
What makes this project so substantial is the fact that Hella Damn Squirrels has been in existence for over 5 years and it continues to post unique, stellar squirrel portraits and the captions and squirrel names stay unique and amusing, and are still posted multiple times a week.
In addition to having its own website domain, Hella Damn Squirrels exists as a Tumblr blog, Facebook Page, Instagram account and has its own Twitter account.
